महाराष्ट्र राज्य परिवहन महामंडळात 3000 नव्या बसचा समावेश करण्यात आला असून याचा शुभारंभ मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे आणि अजित पवार यांच्या हस्ते झाला. या बसमध्ये CCTV, GPS आणि panic button सारख्या अत्याधुनिक सुविधा देण्यात आल्या आहेत.
प्रताप सरनाईक यांनी सांगितलं की ग्रामीण आणि दुर्गम भागातही एसटी सेवा पोहोचवण्यावर भर दिला जात आहे. पुढील काळात आणखी 5000 बस आणि मिनी बसही येणार आहेत.
तसेच इंधन टंचाईच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर मोठा निर्णय घेत, भविष्यात diesel-पेट्रोल बसऐवजी electric vehicles (EV) घेण्यावर भर दिला जाणार असल्याचं त्यांनी स्पष्ट केलं.
